The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) invites all interested food and beverage exporters to take part in Italy's Food and Beverage Forum in Bormio, Italy this June.   

Under the direction of the European House, the Ambrosetti Club gathers annually 350 CEOs from companies operating in Italy to learn and discuss topics that affect Italy’s agri-food supply chain.  The Club organizes a series of roundtable meetings and a high-level forum where ideas, strategies, and concrete proposals are shared with relevant policymakers.  

Last year’s forum underlined the importance of three (3) critical aspects in Italy’s sustainable relaunching: diet, health, and sports, and presented a roadmap for the industry's future.  

This year, the forum will be held on June 17–19, 2022 at the Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi in Bormio where the following papers will be presented:  

• “The Roadmap of the Future for Food & Beverage: Changes and Challenges for the Years to Come”  

• “The Challenge of Sustainability for the Italian Agri-Food Value Chain”   

• “Italian Sounding: What It’s Worth and What Opportunities for Italian Agri-Food"  

The following strategic business cases will also be presented during the forum:  

• “Forum on the Roadmap of the Future for Food & Beverage: Changes and Challenges for the Years to Come” in partnership with Granarolo  

• “The Energy Drink as an Activator of an Active Lifestyle” in partnership with Granarolo 

Despite the onset of the pandemic, food exports to Italy increased by 119.6% reaching USD 60.0 million in 2020.  However, food exports to Italy were not sustained in the succeeding year and dropped to USD 30.20 million in 2021, according to PSA's preliminary statistics. This, however, is still higher than the pre-pandemic level of exports in 2019 valued at USD 27.2 million. 

Italy was the Philippines' 20th biggest food export market in 2021. The top Philippine food exports to Italy in 2021 include yellowfin tunas, tunas, skipjack and bonito, pineapple juice, pineapples, other fruits, nuts, and other edible parts of plants. 

Meanwhile, some of the biggest imports from Italy include beverages, fresh food, aquaculture, and processed food.
