angle-left ADVISORY: Export Management Coaching Initiative (EMCI): Call for Applications for the 2nd Batch

The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) invite existing and aspiring Philippine exporters to the 2nd round of the ARISE PLUS Philippines’ Export Management Coaching Initiative (EMCI). Applications are now open for the next batch of coaching missions, which will take place in August and September 2022.

The EMCI offers practical, action-oriented advisory services and on-the-job coaching to selected Philippine micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to help them deal with issues related to packaging and labelling, regulatory compliance and buyer requirements, customs formalities and applicable fees, international shipping, export planning and pro-forma invoice.

Using a customized coaching manual, the one-on-one, on-the-job training will be delivered by local professionals with extensive experience in the fields of import/export, freight forwarding, and logistics over the course of five (5) days at the premises of the beneficiary SME.

The coaching missions aim to accomplish the following outputs:

a. an assessment of the export management practices of the beneficiary SME;

b. a set of recommendations to improve the beneficiary SME’s export management practices and its compliance with export requirements, delivered both orally and in a written report;

c. a list of follow-up activities to be undertaken to check whether the beneficiary SME has adopted the recommendations and whether they have resulted in better export performance; and

d. a ‘toolkit’ of useful resources for the SME, including links to the e-curriculum that will be developed under the ARISE Plus Philippines project.

Please submit responses on or before 08 July 2022.
