angle-left ADVISORY: Coalition for GSP to Conduct Congressional Lobby Day for GSP Renewal

The Coalition for GSP is taking action to support the renewal of the U.S. Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), through a Lobby Day in Washington, DC, on October 18, 2023. Philippine exporters may forward the registration details to their U.S. importers/customers under GSP. The Lobby Day is open to all companies and associations supporting GSP renewal, free of charge. Interested participants may register through this link: https://renewgsptoday.com/gsp-congressional-lobby-day-october-2023/.

The U.S. GSP has played a pivotal role in strengthening Philippine-U.S. trade, offering duty-free access to 3,500 tariff lines. Unfortunately, it expired on December 31, 2020, and has not yet been reauthorized by the U.S. Congress. Its renewal is critical, given the U.S. remains a major market for Philippine exports.

The Coalition for GSP is a group of American companies and trade associations organized to educate policymakers and others about the important benefits to American companies, workers, and consumers of the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program. Coalition members range from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 corporations all over the U.S.
