The Department of Foreign Affairs is pleased to invite interested Philippine coffee stakeholders, including producers, cooperatives, exporters, and industry associations, to the 2026 edition of the “Coffees Roasted at Origin” Contest, organized by the Paris-based Agency for the Valorization of Agricultural Products (AVPA), an initiative dedicated to promoting excellence and value addition in agricultural production. The awarding ceremony will take place during the Paris Coffee Show on 14 September 2026.
The Contest encourages coffee-producing countries to undertake roasting activities within the country of origin, thereby strengthening local processing capacity, enhancing traceability, and increasing value capture for producers. It likewise provides an international platform for recognition, market access, and engagement with global buyers, roasters, and specialty coffee professionals.
The contest has three categories:
-
Single Estate Coffee: Coffee from a single estate, roasted in the property where it was harvested or, at least, under the responsibility of the farmer
-
Regional Coffee: Coffee presented by a regional roaster living in the Province from which the green coffees are issued and roasted
-
National Coffee: Coffee presented by a nationwide roaster residing in the country from which the green coffees are issued and roasted.
The best entries in each category shall be awarded the “AVPA-Paris Gourmet Product Diploma,” which serves as an international mark of quality and distinction in the specialty coffee sector.
Registration forms and samples should be submitted on or before 28 June 2026 in Paris.
